Pharmacy

We have an onsite pharmacy to provide the majority of the medications that are needed for our patients. Conveniently, there are several pharmacies within a short distance from our clinic. So if we need something for your pet that is not on our own pharmacy shelves, we can write a prescription and easily get the medication that is needed to treat your pet.

In-House Lab

When your pet is sick and needs lab work, we want to know the results immediately. That’s why we have a complete in-house laboratory that allows us to run the tests necessary to diagnose your pet so that we can effectively treat them.

Radiology

If your pet needs radiographs (x-rays) we can provide them with our in-house radiology suite. We’ll have an answer for you while you wait. Once we get the picture, then we can formulate a plan of action to help your pet on its way to recovery.

Surgery

We have a fully equipped surgery suite that is designed to handle soft tissue surgeries. We use Sevoflurane anesthesia which is the anesthesia that is used in children and considered the safest on the market. Our technicians are highly trained in the use of anesthesia and anesthetic monitoring.

Anesthesia

is always risky but we do everything we can do minimize the risk. Our patients, your pets, receive full physical exams; blood work is performed prior to anesthesia to be sure that their organ systems are healthy and can withstand anesthesia; they receive IV fluids during anesthesia to maintain organ function; they are constantly monitored during anesthesia; they are maintained on a warm surface so that they lose minimal body heat during the procedure; adjustments are made during anesthesia to their fluids, the anesthetic level and the oxygen as needed to maintain optimum anesthesia; and they are monitored constantly throughout the procedure. All of these things help to ensure that your pet receives the very best during their anesthetic and surgical procedure.

Pain Management

We believe strongly that controlling pain is one of the most important things that we can do to help out patients recover from an illness or injury. We have many modalities for controlling pain and we tailor the pain protocol to the patient. We believe that no pet should suffer any unnecessary pain.

Euthanasia

Saying goodbye to your beloved friend can be one of the most painful events in your life. We realize that ideally, if you had a choice, you would rather have your primary care veterinarian help your friend in this difficult time. However, sometimes, situations arise that don’t allow that to happen. We know that the decision for euthanasia is a difficult one and that it does not come easily. Be assured that we will help you in any way that we can if this decision needs to be made.
When the time comes, many people need to be with their pets to say goodbye. Some people would rather remember their pets as they were. There is no right or wrong decision. It is purely personal. If you wish to be with your pet, an IV catheter will be placed so that when the doctor gives the injection it will be gentle as you say your goodbye. If you chose not to be with your pet, be assured that your pet will receive the same dignified treatment.
There are several options for final care. Some people prefer to take their pet home to bury them. We do offer both group and individual cremation.
Additionally, we offer, at no additional charge, personalized clay paw prints of your pet that we will bake, glaze and send to you in the mail
